Here is my first 5 different kinds of homemade soap
Left to Right: Coffee Soap, Granny's Lye soap, Honey Oatmeal Soap, Mint Soap & oatmeal Spice soap.
it is so much fun to make! now they are curing for 2-3 weeks then I can lable and sell them Yay!!
"Granny's Lye Soap"
pour 1 1/2 cups ice cold water into a small container,
put 3/4 cup (100%) lye into water and stir untill dissolved.
place lid on and let cool till its warm.
Melt 1 (3#) can shortening and let cool down when temp reaches 98*
then add lye mixture slowly while stiring untill thickens, and when it traces you can add whatever scent you would like !! pour into pan and let set for 12-24 hours cut into bars and cure for 2-3 weeks enjoy!!!
